Tycroes remain top of their league after narrowly beating Haverfordwest.

The WRU Admiral League 3 West match, held at Cae Gelli on a bitterly cold and grey January 4, saw Tycroes secure a 14-10 victory.

The home side stunned their Pembrokeshire opponents with an early try from winger Connor Thomas.

A lack of discipline cost Haverfordwest dearly, as they conceded several penalties, two of which were converted by fly-half Rhys Tench.

Tench added another penalty in an otherwise scoreless second half for Tycroes.

In response, Haverfordwest's comeback came from a try by lock Karl Busch, with the conversion and a penalty by fly-half Jack Codd.

The final score was 14-10 to the Rams.

Tycroes are set to play Pontyberem away, who are second from bottom in the league, in their next match on January 11.
