Miron Muslic believes Poland international Tymoteusz Puchacz is perfectly suited to playing the left wing-back role for Plymouth Argyle.

The 25-year-old made his full debut for the Pilgrims against Oxford United at Home Park on Tuesday night and it was from his 64th minute cross that Rami Al Hajj headed home the equaliser in a 1-1 Championship draw. That was not long after another excellent delivery from Puchacz almost picked out Morgan Whittaker for a far post tap in, only for defender Ciaron Brown to make a last ditch clearance.

In what was Muslic's first match in charge of Argyle, the performance of Puchacz was one of the biggest positives to come out of it and he was a near unanimous choice as man-of-the-match among the watching Green Army.

"I feel the same," said Muslic. "We saw what profile Tymo is, what kind of player he is; a typical Eastern bloc player, very aggressive with the heart on the right spot but also very technical. The biggest goal scoring opportunities and the biggest threat was actually always from his side. The goal was beautiful, well prepared.

"I think also this position fits to him so he can show all his offensive qualities. If you purely look at the two profiles of Tymo and Bali (Mumba) on the other side they can perfectly play this wing-back position."

Puchacz signed for Argyle last Thursday on loan from German Bundesliga club Holstein Kiel until the end of the season and there is an option to buy after that. He played for the first time as an 80th minute substitute in the shock 1-0 Emirates FA Cup third round win away to Premier League club Brentford on Saturday.

The Poland international had not started a competitive match since Holstein Kiel lost 3-0 at home to Mainz on November 24 so it was perhaps not surprising he suffered with cramp in the closing stages against Oxford, which led to Nathanael Ogbeta replacing him in the 89th minute.

Puchacz was not a player that Muslic knew about before he was appointed as Argyle head coach last Friday. "It was already a done deal but I know the profile because I'm following closely every competition, especially the Bundesliga," he said. "This is a good lad and he will give us a lot of joy over the next weeks, months and years."

Muslic added: "Al Hajj and Morgan, they did very well in between the lines, into the pockets, and also good combination with (Michael) Baidoo. Tymo is here for a couple of days, Baidoo is here for a couple of days, a lot of things are very new.

"I have some new ideas and I'm only here for a couple of days. We are going to need a little time to connect but our equaliser was the perfect example how we want to play football and how we want to collect points."
