Tyrone Mings posts injury message as worst case Aston Villa scenario ruled out
Tyrone Mings has confirmed that he did not suffer a serious knee injury in Aston Villa's draw with West Ham.
The defender was forced off in the first half due to the problem, which he initially tried to run off following a medial assessment on the pitch. After being cleared to return to the action, Mings then pulled up and signalled that he needed replacing.
Ian Maatsen replaced Mings in the back four as Lucas Digne shuffled over from left-back to left centre-back to partner Ezri Konsa at the heart of defence. On Sunday evening, Mings took to social media to give an update.

"I've had some serious knee injuries. This isn't one of them," he posted. "Thank you for all of your messages."
Mings made his way back to the substitutes bench before West Ham's equaliser to a rapturous applause from the fans housed in the lower Trinity. He then gave a thumbs up and took a seat on the bench, wearing his club tracksuit.
He only returned to action in September after a long lay-off following an ACL injury which he suffered on the opening weekend of last season. It's a relief that this injury isn't a serious one, nothing like what he went through for a second time in his career last season.
Villa captain John McGinn returned to the squad after overcoming a hamstring problem which he suffered in the win over Leicester City at the start of the month.
He came on in the second period to get minutes in his legs ahead of possibly starting against Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Unai Emery will give updates on midfielders Ross Barkley and Amadou Onana on Tuesday afternoon when he speaks to the press ahead of the Celtic clash. Pau Torres is expected to be out for another five weeks or so after breaking his metatarsal at the end of December in the 2-2 draw with Brighton at Villa Park.
