Boxing enthusiasts are growing increasingly worried about Tyson Fury's prospects ahead of his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk this weekend.

Fury is seeking revenge after Usyk's victory via split decision in their initial bout in May, which saw the Ukrainian become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world in 25 years. Fury has vowed to rectify the mistakes of their first encounter, promising to enter the rematch in "destroy mode" and deliver a decisive knockout.

However, with only a few days remaining before the two fighters face off again in Riyadh, it is Fury who has raised concerns with his unusual behavior during an open workout on Wednesday. Upon entering the ring, attired in an orange hoodie and accompanied by trainer Sugarhill Steward, Fury merely bobbed around the ring for a brief moment without throwing a single punch on the pads.

Instead of engaging in a workout, he bowed to the audience and had his gloves removed.

This lackluster display starkly contrasts with his performance in the open workout preceding their first fight seven months ago, during which he vigorously shadowboxed and worked on the pads for approximately 15 minutes. However, the odd behaviour didn't stop there as he gave a peculiar 18-word interview before leaving the stage for Usyk.

When asked about the fight, his response was curt: "A lot of pain. Smash and damage. A lot of hurt. Hurt, serious hurt. A lot of damage."

When questioned about his fighter's unusual workout, Steward responded: "It was a little workout. We gave it our best. Tyson Fury is just ready right now, along with myself. He's always had like a silly demeanour and [been] playing around, but this is a different side of him. He's just ready, 100 per cent ready."

Despite these comments, concerns among Fury's fans have not been alleviated, with many now believing he is set for a second defeat to Usyk this weekend.

"Said the same thing last time and got outclassed," commented one user. "I can sense that low sense of confidence and his body language looks it. Usyk will get him out of there late."

While some suggested that Fury was trying to be intimidating, others disagreed, with one stating: "He's just sulking like a child and looks edgy and nervous, like he doesn't wanna be there."

Another fan claimed: "He's trying to play mind games.. but he is scared," while another added: "Usyk has the speed and ring IQ to win this, and he knows he can hurt Fury. Usky win by stoppage later rounds."
