Tyson Fury targeting winner of Andy Ruiz Jr and Anthony Joshua rematch
Tyson Fury has revealed he will aim to fight the winner of the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr should Deontay Wilder become unavailable for their second bout on February 22.
The undefeated American faces Luis Ortiz on November 23 and Fury, knowing there are no guarantees when it comes to heavyweight boxing, is prepared to look elsewhere should Ortiz beat Wilder and activate a rematch clause.

WBC champion Wilder is a heavy favourite against Ortiz, having knocked him out in their first bout in 2018, but Fury told talkSport.com that: “When one door closes another one opens.
“So if he loses, he loses. He’ll have a rematch with Ortiz no doubt.
“And I’ll look for the winner of Andy Ruiz Jr vs Anthony Joshua on the same date.”
Ruiz and Joshua go head-to-head on December 7 after the Mexican’s shock win back in June, where in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, the British boxer lost his WBA, IBF & WBO world heavyweight titles to Ruiz at Madison Square Garden.

It’s a must win match for Joshua, but Fury seemed adamant the pair would meet in the future either way.
“I believe 100 per cent yes. It has got to happen.
“I have three fights left on my contract. Deontay Wilder is next and if Wilder wants it again, he can. Then I will fight the winner of Joshua and Ruiz Jr for sure.”
British boxing fans would love to see Fury and Joshua battle it out for the heavyweight titles, and there’s a very real possibility that it could happen in 2020.
