Under-18s march on in FA Youth Cup and could face Spurs next
Amin Nabizada scored twice as Watford Under-18s beat Crewe 4-1 at Kings Langley to progress to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup and a possible home time with Tottenham.
There was also a goal for recent signing Nickson Okosun, the 18-year-old Irish Under-19 international who joined the club on January 1 from Bohemians.
Having gone ahead midway through the first half, Watford were pegged back with 20 minutes left but then regained almost instantly before hitting the visitors with two goals in little more than 60 seconds in the closing stages.
They now host the winners of the fourth round tie between Grimsby Town and Spurs, due to take place on Monday.
Zavier Massiah-Edwards had a couple of attempts on goal before Okosun opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, running onto a pass from Leo Ramirez-Espain and then slotting past Crewe keeper Mikolaj Lenarick.
Okosun threatened to add a second either side of the half-time break before the visitors drew level in the 69th minute when their skipper Stan Dancey scored from close range after a free-kick.
However, parity lasted only three minutes as Nabizada, who made his senior debut in the FA Cup at Fulham a week ago, cut in from the left before steering a right-footed shot into the net.
Five minutes from time Nabizada ended any doubt surrounding who might go into the fifth round when he hammered the ball home inside the box.
A minute later Kash Odiase iced the victory cake when he made it 4-1 with a shot from distance that arrowed into the top corner.
It completed a very good night for the young Hornets as they marched confidently into the last 16, and their fifth round tie is due to played no later than Saturday February 8.
