The unseen Cyriel Dessers Rangers moment that has chairman waxing lyrical over 'genuinely decent lad'
A real moment of class has come to light from Cyriel Dessers during the Scottish Cup win over Fraserburgh last weekend.
The Rangers striker - who netted a hat-trick in the 5-0 win over the Highland League side - made sure he took the time out to go into the visiting dressing room and speak to the travelling opposition. He let them know how proud they should be for how they played at Ibrox and he then took the lead in making sure the lads got the shirts of the Light Blues stars they desired.
The touching gesture was shared by Off the Ball host Tam Cowan, who is friends with Fraserburgh's Finlay Noble. It was a text from him that he read out during his show and after initially asking him to send a picture of the large travelling supporters, he then went on to send a further message as he hailed 'genuinely decent lad' Dessers - who was also on the scoresheet in the Europa League defeat to Manchester United on Thursday night.
Tam explained: "My pal who is the chairman up at Fraserburgh. A chap called Finlay Noble. He was obviously with the whole Fraserburgh mob down at Ibrox on Sunday. I knew he would be up in the posh seats because he is the chairman.
"I said you'll get a great view of the Fraserburgh fans so send me a picture as I want to see what the turnout is like. I knew the whole town would be down there, it was and it was great. Not only did he send me that, but he sent me this and I thought it was worth reading out and you'll understand why when I get to the end of it..."
He continued: "Tam, Sunday was a brilliant day and one that will live long in the memory of everyone at the club. Cyriel Dessers spoke to our players in the dressing room after the match and told them all they should be proud of their performance and on how they conducted themselves.
"He then arranged to get all of our players the shirts that they desired - the ones they wanted to swap with the Rangers players - what a genuinely decent lad. We were treated exceptionally well by everyone at Rangers to be fair."
