Unseen Jason Tindall moment leaves angry Man United fans swearing as Newcastle United march on
Newcastle United quite rightly spent a few extra minutes with their travelling fans after the superb 2-0 win over Manchester United - under the orders of Jason Tindall.
After Alexander Isak and Joelinton put Newcastle into a barnstorming lead, all the Magpies had to do was see out the second half. And they managed it with ease with a professional performance that left the Red Devils with no answer.
As Newcastle fans milked it at Old Trafford, years of rivalry between the two northern sides began to ooze out in the home sections. Nobody will forget that the Magpies once surrendered a 12-point lead in the Premier League title race in 1996, with the Stretford End also taking just a few minutes to churn out the anti-Alan Shearer chants on a night which the ex-Newcastle captain would have enjoyed immensely.

It was all too much for supporters in the prawn sandwich area of Old Trafford as they turned the air blue and told Newcastle fans to: "Come back when you've won something." However, the way Eddie Howe has his team playing that will surely only be a matter of time.
The sense of occasion was not lost on Howe who said after the game: "I think we know the hurt this fixture has had for us historically. It wasn't lost on us. We didn't necessarily use that with the players, but psychologically, that was a big step forward for us today. I think we need to win games like this to achieve what we want on a regular basis."
The win was only Newcastle's second league victory at Old Trafford in 52 years with 19 defeats and nine draws alone in the Premier League years. So this victory sits nicely alongside Alan Pardew's success in 2013 - when Yohan Cabaye scored the winner.
The only difference being this was comfortable. Unlike 2013, Newcastle fans weren't baying for the final whistle and hanging on, this felt, incredibly, somewhat easy!
As Tindall sent a number of players forward to enjoy the applause, before wildly punching the air himself, it was too much for some of the Man United fans to take as they hurled expletives towards Newcastle stars and staff.
Eddie Howe's new transfer warning immediately after the game
Much of the pre-match press room natter from national journalists had been over whether Newcastle can hold on to Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes in January.
One suggestion of a £150million price tag has been dismissed as "too much" for the super Sweden international. But Howe, who knows he needs a player or two through the door, made his stance clear again.
He said: "The first thing is to keep the players that we have [in the transfer window]. We have a good balance to the team and the squad and we don't want to lose anyone. We have people fighting for places and we don't want to disturb that."
Joelinton's "stay humble" message
The £40million man's header in the first half proved to be the strike that essentially sealed the game in the first half. But the Brazil international had an important message after the game.
Howe sent Joelinton out to conduct press duties after 2-0 win with the South American telling reporters: "Time will tell how good we are but we are enjoying football right now. We have to be humble and keep our feet on the ground because there is a long way to go."
