Us Girls event introduces Pembrokeshire girls to new sports
Dozens of girls enjoyed the chance to try a range of sports in Pembrokeshire.
The Sport Pembrokeshire event and community clubs teamed up to host the Us Girls event at Ysgol Caer Elen in Haverfordwest, which was open to girls in school years 7 and 8 from Caer Elen and Haverfordwest High VC.
The 37 girls had the opportunity to participate in eight activities organised by FF Dancers, Haverfordwest County Football Club, Jets Netball Club, Haverfordwest Golf Club, Crundale Table Tennis Club, Haverfordwest Rugby Club, Haverfordwest Tennis Club, and Haverfordwest Cricket Club.
The event aimed to introduce the girls to different sports and encourage them to find a new passion.
Young ambassadors from Haverfordwest High VC School assisted with the activities, and various local businesses supported the event.
Dan Bellis, active young people officer at Sport Pembrokeshire, said: "It was a brilliant morning of fun activities, and it was amazing to see all the girls engaged and enjoying a wide range of community-based activities.
"A big thanks to all those who helped deliver the sports and to the local businesses who helped make the event such a success."
The event was supported by local businesses including Princes Gate, Morrisons, and Boots. The businesses provided water, fruit and goody bags respectively.
