Arsenal are once again in the mix for the Premier League title - the third year running that they have been challenging.

Can they go one better this time around and climb to the top of the table come the end of the season, though, and put back-to-back second placed finishes behind them?

The Gunners are six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, having played one game more than the Reds so far this season. That was after Liverpool's huge Merseyside Derby away at Everton was postponed a couple of weeks ago.

It looks a tall order for Arsenal to close that gap this season, although there are sure to be twists and turns to come. But what do Mikel Arteta and the Gunners need to do in order to end their 21-year Premier League title drought next year, if they do not come out on top this season?

Well, a few transfers would not go amiss. SportsCasting used AI to determine which transfers Arsenal would need to complete in order to lift the Premier League crown, and it came up with five that would ensure Arteta was nailed on to do the business for the Gunners.

There was one rather big surprise in the five deals, with David Raya being replaced as goalkeeper. AI predicts Arsenal to sign Lucas Chevalier from Lille. The 23-year-old has kept six clean sheets in 15 games so far in Ligue 1 this season, conceding 15 goals - averaging a goal a game.

There was one major expected signing for the Gunners, with Viktor Gyokeres completing a big-money move to become Arsenal's first-choice striker.

And there were a couple of other mega deals. Federico Valverde, who could have already been playing for Arsenal, joined from Real Madrid, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia signing from Napoli. Arsenal also made a free transfer to bring in Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich following the expiration of his contract.

The AI said: "Gyokeres provided a commanding presence up front, his strength, pace, and clinical finishing making him the perfect focal point in Arsenal’s attack. Behind him, Valverde dominated the midfield, combining energy and technical brilliance to dictate the tempo of games, while his versatility allowed Arteta to adapt seamlessly to any opposition.

"Kvaratskhelia dazzled on the left wing, delivering creativity, goals, and an unpredictability that tormented defenders throughout the campaign. On the opposite flank, Alphonso Davies brought searing pace and defensive solidity, seamlessly transitioning between defence and attack.

"Between the posts, Lucas Chevalier emerged as a reliable shot-stopper, making key saves in crucial moments. Together, these signings transformed Arsenal into an unstoppable force."

Arsenal XI predicted by AI: Chevalier; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Davies; Rice, Valverde, Odegaard; Saka, Gyokeres, Kvaratskhelia.
