'A very long time' - Former Leicester City star Wesley Fofana suffers devastating injury blow
Former Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana has suffered another long-term injury, Enzo Maresca has confirmed.
Fofana has missed the previous six Premier League games due to a hamstring problem picked up in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa. It's the latest in a long line of injury problems suffered since his move from the King Power Stadium.
The defender missed the entire of the 2023/24 season with an ACL injury. Speaking ahead of this weekend's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace, ex-City boss Maresca confirmed Fofana is facing a lengthy period out.

"Unfortunately Wes [Fofana] will be out for a very long time," he said. "Unfortunately he could be out for the season. We don't know exactly but he could be out for part of the season.
"Every time you ask me about Wes, I said many times I am in love with Wes." He continued: "No, not at the moment [for surgery]. For sure not Benoit and Wes not at the moment."
Initially, Fofana was only set to miss a few weeks. However, Maresca has confirmed the problem is worst than what the club had initially believed. "It is hamstring and unfortunately, we are going to lose him for a while," the Italian admitted.
Fofana has been unfortunate with injuries since moving to England in 2020. After a solid first season with Leicester, the Frenchman suffered a broken leg in August 2021, forcing him to miss over 220 days.
He returned to the Foxes' squad in 2022 before moving to Chelsea for £75million. His first season at Stamford Bridge was plagued by a knee injury that saw him miss nearly two months of action.
