Victor Osimhen's 'Man United verdict' clear amid January transfer links
Napoli's wantaway striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Manchester United in January in favour of remaining at Galatasaray.
Osimhen was one of the most in-demand strikers this summer after it emerged last season that Napoli had agreed to allow him to exit the club. However, despite interest from Chelsea and Saudi Arabia, neither the Nigerian forward nor the Italian club were able to broker a deal for his exit.
This left both parties in a difficult position as Osimhen faced the prospect of being confined to the reserves should he remain in Naples. A solution was to be found thanks to Turkey's extended transfer window.

Galatasaray managed to agree to a season-long loan deal for Osimhen that allowed the striker to continue playing first-team football. The 25-year-old was also appeased by agreeing to a break clause in his contract that would be activated if one of ten clubs approached Napoli in January over a permanent deal.
If one of these unnamed teams submitted a bid, Osimhen would be free to cut his loan spell in Turkey short and join the new club. AreaNapoli claims United are one of the clubs interested in taking on Osimhen having kept a close eye on his development in Serie A.
However, Turkish Football understands Osimhen would reject advances from United and any other club this winter as he is more than happy to see out his loan spell at Galatasaray. The striker has so far bagged nine goals and five assists in just 12 appearances for the Turkish giants.
The report does add that United and other interested parties are not out of the running entirely. Osimhen could still join them but a deal would have to be agreed next summer.
In the meantime, the Reds' strike force has improved under new boss Ruben Amorim. Last week both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee bagged braces for United while Marcus Rashford already has three goals to his name under the Portuguese head coach.
