Viktor Gyokeres private feelings about Man United transfer emerge as 'talks' begin
Manchester United have seemingly been dealt a blow in their hopes of signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.
United have been credited with an interest in signing Gyokeres in recent weeks, with the rumours intensifying following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the club's head coach. The striker has scored 30 goals in 28 appearances this season for Sporting, joining the 43 he scored in all competitions last term to help the club win the league title in Portugal.
Gyokeres has been widely linked with a move away from Sporting ever since last summer, but chose to remain with the Primeira Liga club and alongside Amorim, until the coach made the switch to Old Trafford. With the January transfer window now open, speculation is gathering pace yet again that Gyokeres could be on the move.
According to the Daily Star, Gyokeres is uncertain about the prospect of joining United despite the links of a move to Manchester. The report claims that the difficulty of the job that Amorim is facing has given Gyokeres reservations about the idea of signing for United.

It has also been reported that Bayern Munich have now made a move to try and sign Gyokeres. This is despite only signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur 18 months ago in a £100million deal.
Bayern have reportedly held initial talks over signing Gyokeres and are willing to pay the £80million release clause in the striker's contract. It remains to be seen, though, if the Bundesliga giants plan to sign Gyokeres this month or wait until the summer.
United have been dealt another blow with Gyokeres apparently wanting to join a club that has Champions League football next season. The Reds are currently 13th in the Premier League table and are 13 points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea, as well as 12 behind fifth-placed Newcastle.
