Vincent Kompany reveals what Manchester City must do to win the Premier League
Vincent Kompany believes Liverpool are on target for 97 points - and will still miss out on the Premier League title.
Manchester City returned to the summit of England’s top tier with a comfortable 2-0 victory in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
It meant Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have now ceded their advantage - with Pep Guardiola’s men previously having played fewer games.
But the City skipper believes his own club can win all three remaining fixtures and pip them to the title.
That would leave Liverpool feeling like the most unfortunate team in Premier League history.
"Three wins,” the Belgium international told Sky Sports. “We shouldn't expect the opponent to drop points.
“But wins are difficult in the Premier League, so we have to go back to our routine, recover tomorrow and prepare for strengths and weaknesses of the opposition.

“To me it’s significant because it is a derby. Burnley is a difficult away game, then Leicester and Brighton.
“There is still a lot to play for, for us and Liverpool.”
Liverpool are currently in second with remaining fixtures against Huddersfield and Wolves at home, with Newcastle away in between.
The Reds are also in the Champions League semi-finals, where they will face Barcelona.
And the City skipper is eyeing domestic dominance after his side were knocked out of Europe by Tottenham last week.
Kompany added: "If everyone does the right thing then we are at our best because if this team prepares well, with the amount of competition we have, then we have a big chance to produce a big performance.”
