Former Welsh international Vinnie Jones has criticised Marcus Rashford for his recent form.

Rashford missed two good chances against Croatia as England drew 0-0 against their World Cup semi-final opponents on Friday.

The forward has also struggled for a run of games under Jose Mourinho after the emergence of Jesse Lingard and the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, starting just twice in the Premier League this season.

The 20-year-old made his debut for United under Louis van Gaal and scored on his debuts in the Europa League against FC Midtjylland and in the Premier League against Arsenal, but has struggled to kick on.

Jones, who won the FA Cup in 1989 and starred in Steven Seagal’s Absolution in 2015, said on talkSPORT his colleagues will be tired of his troubles in front of goal.

“You cannot keep missing like he’s missing, you’ve got to start putting these in the back of the onion bag,” the Gutshot Straight actor said.

“The players are going to start taking the mickey. Wimbledon, Chelsea, those squads, we would have started taking the mickey by now.

“When Rashford came on the scene I thought he was going to be the real deal. But he seems to have levelled out.”

The Not Another Not Another Movie thespian continued: “Players will be getting irritated. There was a good win on the table there against Croatia and he never took one of the chances.

“If I was a player, I’d be getting wound up about it.”
