The Liverpool players were understandably delighted with their most recent Premier League victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.

Arne Slot's side stormed to a 4-1 win at Anfield to maintain their six-point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand against Everton to come. Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring early on with his fourth goal of the season before Mohamed Salah added another.

Cody Gakpo then scored a brace to take his Premier League goal tally for the season to eight. The Dutchman is now just two strikes away from hitting double figures in the league for the first time in his Liverpool career.

A number of Liverpool players took to social media after the game to share a series of photos, as well as a message to supporters. Virgil van Dijk, in particular, shared a simple "300!!!" in recognition of his 300 appearances for the club since his arrival from Southampton at the end of 2017.

"It wasn't a bad week." Szoboszlai wrote on Instagram, accompanied by an image of his goal celebration. The message was also in reference to the Champions League win over Lille midweek, in which the Reds secured their place in the round of 16 of the competition.

Left back Andy Robertson shared an inspired message on Instagram in which he urged his teammates to keep pushing in the title race. The Reds take on Bournemouth next time out before they contest their game in hand against Everton and can increase their points gap to nine points.

Defender Ibrahima Konate kept things simple with a word-less message. He included the salute emoji, followed by a red heart. Alexis Mac Allister then wrote: "+3 at Anfield."

"It's been a few times we have played a home game and conceded a goal at the start," Reds boss Arne Slot said. "Today is the way you want to start a game," he said. "We were aggressive, dominant for 85 minutes, they had hardly been in our half.

"It is a counter-attacking threat with the wingers they have but we managed to control that so because of the amount of work we put in.

"At the end, we are all all disappointed conceding from a corner, the first one this season, but for 85 minutes it was almost a perfect performance against a team that plays a low block.

"That's not always easy but the way we did it was really good."
