Wales call up uncapped prop in unexpected Six Nations announcement
Warren Gatland has called uncapped Ospreys tighthead prop Ben Warren into his Six Nations squad.
The 24-year-old has been added to the squad after WillGriff John failed a HIA playing for Sale Sharks 32-23 defeat to Bath on Sunday. This means John will miss at least the first game of the Championship against France in Paris on Friday night but will remain part of the wider squad.
Warren joins Cardiff's Keiron Assiratti and experienced Scarlets prop Henry Thomas as the tightheads in the squad. Tighthead prop has been an area of concern for Gatland, with only 23 international caps between the four who are in the squad.

Warren has long been seen as a player of the future and was highly rated by former Ospreys head coach Toby Booth but has struggled for regular game time at the Welsh club. The 24-year-old has previously trained with the Wales squad ahead of their clash with South Africa at Twickenham last summer so is familiar to the national coaches.
