I want to see Liverpool sign Mohamed Salah replacement now - they did it with me and it worked
I am like all Liverpool fans. I want to see the club make moves in the transfer window. We brought in £60m earlier in the season by selling players, it would be nice to see some re-invested.
I think now is the time to spend and strengthen things up from a position of strength. People talk about left-backs but I would like another forward. Someone to come in and freshen things up. We all want to see that. Whether the owners do it or not, we have to wait and see. But I think we should.
Milos Kerkez is a good player though. A really good player. He’s been linked recently but wouldn’t know if it’s true or not, that Liverpool want him, as it’s only speculation.

There’s always transfer speculation, Richard Hughes has signed him before. But we don’t know how much truth there is in it as we do have two really good left-backs.
Robbo has been absolutely fantastic for us over the years, I can’t speak highly enough of him. But it is an area they could look at. And Kerkez is a really good player.
We know Trent is wanted by Real Madrid, while there’s new speculation about Mo and Virgil and Saudi Arabia at the moment.
When Ian Rush was going to Juventus, Kenny Dalglish pinpointed me to come in and replace him. If Mo Salah is going to go, now is the time to get someone in to see what it is all about, so they can kick on for next season.
If they’re not going to keep Mo or Virgil or Trent, go and get someone else. If the club know they’re not going to sign, then now is the time to get someone in so they’re ready for next season.
Preparing to be part of the squad, like I did, ready for next season so we’re right in the driving seat. Whether it’s a centre-back, right-winger or right-back. It’s as easy as that.
Liverpool were good at doing that in my day. I think they should take note of what they did in the past. When a new player comes, they will have had four or five months bedding in. It will do them the world of good and set the club up well for the future if they are needing to replace these players.
Jota injury a concern but no woe with Mo
Diogo Jota looks like he will miss out again against Lille. It’s a shame. You do get players who are notoriously injury-prone, and he certainly has been. But we need him.
He’s a game-changer and we need him fit. We’re going for the title and we need everyone. Let’s hope they can work on him and get him back quickly but also get him back injury-free.
He needs a few months without getting injured. If Liverpool can get that out of him, it’ll be scary for opposition teams and huge for Arne Slot because we know how good he can be.
It’s a shame he’s out too because his goals would be even more vital now with Mohamed Salah going a few games without a goal.
I think it’s a mountain out of a molehill to be honest, it’s what people do as it creates news. But he’s still creating chances.
It’s something to talk about but all goalscorers go through it.
Time to rotate
I’ve thought in some of the other Champions League games, Arne would rotate but he’s instead gone strong.
I think it would be wise to mix it up against Lille. He knows who needs the games and he’s got options so he can change up the team a little bit.
He could play Quansah or Bradley in defence. He can freshen up the midfield as he’s got Jones and Elliott there, and there’s Endo available as well.
Upfront, it could be time to give Chiesa a start. Nunez has to play now, and then you can play Diaz or Gakpo on the wing.
We’ve got lots of options. And then you’ve still got the ones you’ve taken out on the bench. The cavalry can come to town if you need them in the second half.
