Warrington Town loan update with one extension and two recalls
WARRINGTON Town have delivered mixed news in terms of the players currently on loan at the club.
One player will be sticking around for a while longer, but manager Paul Carden will no longer be able to call upon two others after they were recalled by their parent clubs.
Central defender Hamish Douglas will remain at the Cal.Delivery Stadium for another month after a deal was struck with League One side Rotherham United to keep him.
Despite the collective struggles of the Town side, the 19-year-old has caught the eye in his 19 appearances since first arriving in October, forming a solid partnership with veteran Peter Clarke in defence.
The renewed loan deal means Douglas will be available for Yellows’ next eight matches, starting with tomorrow’s trip to National League North leaders Kidderminster Harriers and finishing after the hosting of Scarborough Athletic on February 25.
Meanwhile, both winger Josh Miles and midfielder Jak McCourt have played their final games for the club having both been recalled from their loan spells.
Having arrived in the summer, Miles netted twice in 23 appearances while McCourt featured seven times since joining in November. The former will now return to Blackpool while the latter has been recalled by Ashton United.
Earlier this week, Carden added experienced former Brighton, Cardiff and Bolton winger Craig Noone to his squad on a player-coach basis.
The 37-year-old will be a part of the group that travels to Aggborough to face the Harriers tomorrow but it is currently unclear as to whether or not he will be able to play as he awaits international clearance having spent the latter part of his professional career in Australia.
