WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed a number of new offerings to fans are on the way as well as changes to the matchday experience at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Whether it is the introduction of a new club app, fresh food and drink offerings or simply the cleanliness of the stadium’s facilities, The Wire say they have acted on the feedback of more than 2,000 fans who responded to the survey they published at the end of 2024.

On Sunday, the Warrington Guardian revealed the club’s directors had made an investment of around £400,000 in upgrades at their home ground, including the installation of a new LED screen and new scanners at turnstile to allow for digital tickets, ahead of the new season.

And now, the club have confirmed more of their plans including…

New Warrington Wolves app set to launch

Around 90 per cent of those who responded to the survey said they would like to see a dedicated club app and as such, one is currently in development in order to enhance fans’ digital experience.

Warrington have also confirmed they have put their matchday programme under review due to falling sales and a low number of downloads of the digital version.

‘An old favourite’ to return to half-time entertainment

Survey respondents rated the matchday experience at home games at an average of 3 out of 5, down from 4/5 when fans were last surveyed in 2019.

As such, the club have confirmed changes will include a new half-time challenge which they say will feature the return of ‘an old favourite.’

A permanent stage – to be named “The Hoover Main Stage” will be part of the new LED screen in the South East corner in order to enable live entertainment at every home fixture, while fireworks and pyrotechnics will take a more prominent role in pre-match build-up.

Concourse ‘fan zones’ and catering overhaul

Catering standards at the HJ received a lowly rating of 2.1/5, and the club have provided more detail into the changes they are set to make on that front.

They say new staff appointments are to be made with a renewed focus on better value, variety and service, while concourse ‘fan zones’ are in development with diverse food, drink and entertainment offerings.

“We acknowledge that this is an area where we have fallen short in the past,” chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick said of the club’s catering provision.

“The situation is currently under thorough review, and we are committed to making meaningful improvements.

“Please expect a really big update in due course as we work to enhance this aspect of our offering.”

Stadium enhancements

Work to improve the appearance of the stadium, which celebrated its 20th birthday in 2024, is ongoing having started at the back end of last year.

However, more measures have been confirmed including a trebling of the number of matchday cleaning staff to address growing concerns about the cleanliness of toilets, with new systems to allow for real-time feedback also in the works.

The stadium’s sound system has also undergone servicing work and a full rebalance to ensure all stands receive the same level of volume. The club have also said the volume of pre-match music will be lowered until the build-up to kick off begins.
