In the wake of the Luka-AD blockbuster, of course there was going to be a link to Nikola Vucevic now a possibility for the Lakers. Vooch discusses as trade winds are blowing the Bulls' way, and they can feel it.

Zach LaVine is out for today’s game against the Detroit Pistons (personal reasons).

Plan was always to try to be back today but the early tipoff complicated things logistically.

LaVine will be back with the team this week. - 11:39 AM

Nikola Vucevic passed NBA75 selection James Worthy in scoring yesterday. He's No. 114 all-time now.

Also: Devin Booker (age 28) moved ahead of Lou Williams, Terry Porter, Walt Frazier, Artis Gilmore and Rashard Lewis for No. 137.

He's in Top 10 all-time trajectory. - 3:14 PM

Bulls win ... but the Vooch (and Zach) trade talk isn't going away anytime soon, and Nikola Vucevic is braced for it either way. Vooch talks about it, and you ...

Bench comes through with 50 points as all four bench players score in double digits. - 9:53 PM

I think one good sign for Matas Buzelis is how his teammates speak about him. A lot of praise re: work ethic and little wrinkles of his game.

Something Vooch complimented him on this week: not overusing his hands on defense. Keeps him in plays and lets him utilize his length. - 7:59 PM

Joe Cowley @JCowleyHoops

Great recovery by Vooch on the screen ... initially didn't set up right, made a quick adjustment, rolled and basket and harm ... pro's pro. - 7:54 PM

Still uncertain whether Zach LaVine will join the Bulls in Detroit, per Billy Donovan.

Billy spoke to Zach today and things are going well with his family. Logistics are still undecided of whether he’ll join the team in Detroit or back in Chicago. - 6:02 PM

Chaotic vibes at Bulls shootaround this morning. Jalen Smith got a bloody nose. Torrey Craig decided it was incredibly important to pick Vooch up in the air and then made everyone within shouting range get photo documentation that he could do so. A lot going on in Toronto. - 12:02 PM

More on this storyline

League sources say the talks between the Warriors and Bulls regarding Vučević are very real, with the 34-year-old center intriguing the Warriors brass with his steady production (19.8 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game). That deal, if it were to come together, would likely allow them to hold onto Wiggins (Warriors Kevon Looney, Gary Payton II and Kyle Anderson are believed to be the players of focus in those talks). -via New York Times / February 2, 2025

As for LaVine, who league sources say would welcome the chance to play for the Warriors, he may ultimately prove to be the better fit. The 29-year-old is owed $45.9 million next season, and has a player option worth $48.9 million for the 2026-27 campaign. -via New York Times / February 2, 2025
