Warriors fall to Clinton County

Apr. 22—The Southwestern Warriors had lost their past four games, albeit by close margins, heading into their Saturday afternoon contest at home against Clinton County. It looked like early on they might have a chance to break the streak, but after allowing three runs in the third inning, the Warriors ended up falling to the Bulldogs 6-3.

Jonah Brock led the way for the Warriors with two RBI's, with Jonas Gallagher adding a single RBI. Michael Miller, Daniel Case and Jayce Gager also had hits in the ball game, with Case adding a stolen base. Jayden Taylor earned the loss on the mound, going three innings and allowing four runs on three hits with two walks and one strikeout. Hunter Lewis pitched three innings in relief, allowing two runs on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Reno Scott pitched the final inning, allowing just two hits with no runs.

Southwestern falls to 4-13 and will begin a district crosstown series against Somerset Christian at home on Monday.
