The mother-of-two - who is played by Lacey Turner - makes her feelings known in Friday night’s episode as she interrupts a romantic moment with new husband Martin (James Bye) to reveal she is going to see Max’s (Jake Wood) daughter Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald).

In a preview clip ahead of Friday night’s ep, Martin is seen coming into their bedroom with a piece of chocolate cake a day after their wedding.

The market trader is in a joyous mood and puts the cake in Stacey’s mouth, saying: “Get it all in there … look at that.”

As the pair lie down on the bed, he declares: “I should really be getting to the suppliers.”

But Stacey makes the first move, leaping out of bed, before a surprised Martin asks her why she’s in such a hurry, saying “come back”.

She adds: “I need to speak to Abi … someone has to. Max is innocent.”

Earlier this week, Stacey was warned about trying to get Max off the hook after Bobby (Eliot Carrington) announced to the whole Queen Vic pub that he had in fact killed his sister (Hetti Bywater).

Max was sent to prison for the murder last year, which coincided with actor Jake taking a one-year break from the soap.
He revealed this week he will be back on the BBC One soap after the summer.
