Watch: Galatasaray youngster Beknaz Almazbekov deliberately misses penalty after outrageous dive to win spot-kick

Sports and sportsmanship. Two words which don’t correlate perhaps as much as you might expect.

The current age of football can be a bleak realm at times; one in which diving has become the norm as well as flashing imaginary cards and hurling abuse at referees.

Indeed, the most sportsmanship you’re likely to see on a football pitch at the moment is the begrudging pass to an opposing goalkeeper after a player is stretchered off injured.

And even that can be a luxury at times.
