Liverpool welcomes Ipswich Town to Anfield for the first time since 2002 as Arne Slot aims to guide his side to another three points.

The two sides faced off in the opening game of the season, with Slot winning his first Premier League game in charge 2-0 at Portman Road back in August. Kieran McKenna's newly-promoted side, fighting to avoid relegation, now heads to Anfield for the return fixture.

The Reds are currently six points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand on second-placed Arsenal. However, they will face a team fighting for survival and with plenty of motivation to cause an upset.

Early team news

Diogo Jota is set to miss the game after picking up a knock against Nottingham Forest, while Joe Gomez is also ruled out. There's also a concern over Curtis Jones, who was withdrawn at halftime against Lille in midweek.

"He went out during half-time so it's mostly not a good sign and it wasn't because he won't be available tomorrow,” Slot said on Friday.

"We'll have to wait and see how long it takes but I'm not expecting months. Let's see if he's available for PSV or Bournemouth."

Big names rested against Lille included Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo, all of whom could return.
