Manchester City continue their Champions League campaign by welcoming Real Madrid to the Etihad Stadium for the first leg of their knockout phase play-off tie.

After finishing 22nd in the league phase courtesy of a 3-1 win over Club Brugge on the final matchday, they face the reigning champions, who came 11th. Much like City, the Spanish side have struggled so far this month, being beaten by Espanyol and needing a 93rd-minute winner to overcome Leganes in the Copa del Rey in their last two away games.

However, a 1-1 draw last weekend in the Madrid derby did keep them top of La Liga, a point ahead of Atletico and two above Barcelona. MEN Sport details how to watch City play Madrid tonight.

What time does City vs Madrid kick-off?

As has become the new norm for Champions League matches over recent seasons, City vs Madrid is due to kick off at 8pm. The early game starts at 5:45pm as Brest host Paris Saint-Germain, with the winner of that tie set to play either Barcelona or Liverpool in the last 16 next month.

Is City vs Madrid on TV?

The match will be exclusively live on Amazon Prime Video in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. As such, TNT Sports will not be showing the game.

Amazon's coverage is due to begin at 6:30pm, an hour and a half before kick-off. Gabby Logan will present their programme, with Clarence Seedorf, Daniel Sturridge, Gael Clichy and Wayne Rooney - the latter making his Prime debut - working as pundits.

Once the game gets underway, Jon Champion will be on commentary alongside Alan Shearer. Alex Aljoe and Gabriel Clarke will also be working as reporters at the Etihad Stadium.

What have the managers said?

"We deserve to be where we are," City boss Pep Guardiola said of his side's participation in the Champions League play-off round. "The draw is the draw and we accept the challenge.

"We've not been consistent when what's defined the team over the last decade has been we are an incredible machine every three days, otherwise we cannot win six Premier Leagues in seven years or win the incredible trophies we have won. "Then I would feel, yes, the team is consistent, we can do it.

"Now it's like, I don't know. "But, at the same time, always in this type of draw and competition I'm so optimistic and calm.

"We'll see what happens. "I will not deny the trust with the players that gave us the incredible decade to play at the high standards I know we're capable of."
