How to watch Republic of Ireland vs Hungary: TV channel and live stream for friendly today
The Republic of Ireland host Hungary in an international friendly at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium tonight.
John O’Shea is still in charge of the hosts after seeing his contract as interim coach extended back in April as the FAI continue to seek a permanent successor to Stephen Kenny, who did not have his contract renewed in November after failing to qualify for Euro 2024.
The former Manchester United stalwart will hope for a positive result on Tuesday evening to boost his own hopes of getting the job on a full-time basis, with a tough clash against Portugal to come in Aveiro next week.
O’Shea previously oversaw a goalless home draw with Belgium and a narrow defeat by Switzerland during the March international break.
Hungary are warming up for the Euros, having topped qualification Group G ahead of Serbia.
Marco Rossi’s side did not lose a single qualifier and are unbeaten in their last 14 matches, a run dating back to September 2022.
They beat both Turkey and Kosovo in their last pair of friendlies in March and also play Israel at the weekend, ahead of a Euros campaign that sees them in Group A along with hosts Germany, Switzerland and Scotland.
