Tottenham Hotspur continue with cup football this weekend, switching their attention to the FA Cup this time around with a third round tie against National League opponents Tamworth.

Ange Postecoglou's swashbuckling side secured a positive 1-0 victory in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at home vs Liverpool on Wednesday night. That was a much-needed respite from the troubles the Premier League have thrown up at stages this term.

And they're the heavy favourites to continue their push for silverware in the other domestic cup competition, at the expense of an opponent that is 96 places below them in the English football pyramid.

Several points of contention can't be ignored, though. The most obvious is Tamworth's determination to become this season's FA Cup heartthrobs, having already dispatched Macclesfield, Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion in previous rounds.

The gap of places in the league system between Spurs and the Lambs is the largest of any tie this weekend.

Another factor will be how many changes Postecoglou decides to make. With Premier League football returning midweek, the manager may see lower league opposition as ample time to make alterations, will that just unsettle the team further?

And lastly, the conditions are heavily against the Premier League side. Playing at The Lamb Ground 13 miles north east of Birmingham, it holds 4,963 supporters and has an astroturf pitch.

What is the latest Tottenham Hotspur team news?

Tottenham's main injury concern was Rodrigo Bentancur after Wednesday night. The midfielder collapsed as he attempted a header after six minutes vs Liverpool and play paused for near-10 minutes until he was stretchered away, but there has been a relatively positive update.

"I'll start with Rodrigo, mostly positive news, he obviously went to hospital after the game.

"He was concussed and they did every check needed to do -and I understand he's gone home now. So that's real positive news for us because it was a bit of a distressing situation to deal with for everyone," the manager said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Postecoglou continued: "And then, aside from that, nothing coming out of the other night, everyone got through that pretty well and no one really coming back in from the guys who have been out, apart from Pape [Matar Sarr] and Madders [James Maddison], who are available."

Bentancur is, therefore, added to a current injury list consisting of Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, Fraser Forster and Wilson Odobert.
