How to watch Wimbledon 2024: TV channel and live stream as Championships begin today

Wimbledon begins today as one of the ultimate highlights of the annual British sporting calendar returns for 2024.

This year’s Championships get underway with uncertainty still surrounding the fitness of Andy Murray, who is pushing to make one final appearance at SW19 ahead of his likely retirement later this summer after the two-time winner was forced to undergo surgery to remove a spinal cyst last weekend after withdrawing from his last outing at Queen’s Club through injury.

Emma Raducanu is optimistic of a deep run at Wimbledon after missing out last year following surgery of her own, having recently impressed on the grass courts of Eastbourne with an upset of world No5 Jessica Pegula before being defeated by Daria Kasatkina.

Seven-time champion Novak Djokovic is set to compete after pulling out of the French Open and undergoing a knee operation earlier this month, having been bested by Carlos Alcaraz in last year’s thrilling men’s singles final on Centre Court.

Marketa Vondrousova is the defending women’s singles champion after inflicting another final defeat on Ons Jabeur 12 months ago, but is another high-profile player to have experienced a late injury scare in the build-up to her title defence.

Where to watch Wimbledon 2024

TV channel: As usual in the UK, the BBC will have exclusive live free-to-air television coverage of Wimbledon throughout the 2024 Championships.

Coverage will initially begin in the mornings at 10:30am BST or 11am on BBC Two, then at 12:15pm on BBC One across the first week.

Coverage resumes on both channels in the early afternoon, and then again at 7pm on BBC One when there is no clash with the Euro 2024 knockout stages.
