Watford FC fans invited to help create new display at town's museum
A special project celebrating the history of Watford FC is being launched by Watford Museum.
The "Fans' Display" will be a key feature of the new museum, set to open in the Town Hall in 2026.
Supporters are invited to play a central role in telling the story of the Hornets.
Fans can get involved by sharing their cherished items and accompanying memories, which will help create an interactive display spotlighting the experiences of Watford supporters.
The museum team will be present at the Watford vs Norwich City match on February 1, 2025, to meet fans and learn about their stories.
Supporters can also use an online form to share the story behind their objects.
If an object is chosen for the display, the museum team will contact the owner with details on how to donate the item and officially add the story to Watford's history.
Fans are asked to contact the museum before sending objects to ensure their piece of Watford history is properly considered.
Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: "We are really excited about the new museum embarking on this incredible project celebrating the rich history of Watford Football Club.
"The club is such an important part of our community and history of the town.
"The ‘Fans’ Display’ will be a special part of the new museum, and we’re inviting supporters to play a key role in bringing this story to life.
"Whether it’s a treasured piece of memorabilia or a heartfelt memory, your contributions will help create a display that captures the spirit and passion of our town’s beloved club.
"Don’t miss your chance to be part of this."
The project has been made possible through the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with special thanks to National Lottery players for helping to preserve and share the unique heritage of Watford FC.
