Manchester City will hope to keep pace at the Premier League summit when they take on Watford later today.

With Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in action hours before in the early kick-off against West Ham and Liverpool playing Wolves at 3pm GMT, City will know whether or not beating Claudio Ranieri’s men will send them top.

On paper, it’s hard to look past an away win.

City, after all, are averaging over two goals per Premier League game without having signed a striker and only Newcastle and Norwich have conceded more often than Watford.

Still, Ranieri’s team shocked Manchester United at Vicarage Road and were unlucky to have lost to Chelsea in midweek, so have set at least some kind of precedent in these big games.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Watford vs Manchester City is scheduled for a 5:30pm GMT kick-off time today - Saturday December 4, 2021.

Vicarage Road in Watford will host.

For Watford, Ben Foster, Ismaila Sarr and Nicolas N’Koulou are all out and Danny Rose could replace Adam Masina.

Watford vs Man City prediction

Watford’s games against United and Chelsea do suggest that this is unlikely to be as straightforward as some may think but, given how poor their defence has been in contrast to City’s attacking prowess, the champions will surely have too much.

City to win 3-1.
