Watkins signs, wonderkid U-turn, Kimmich agreement - Arsenal dream transfer deadline day scenario
Arsenal head into transfer deadline day still requiring reinforcements. Mikel Arteta has admitted he wants to sign a new forward, given injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, but that it had to be for the "right player".
The Gunners have not yet made a signing in the January transfer window, nor have they let any senior players leave. That has not meant there has not been rumours or links though.
The most recent of which came in the form of Ollie Watkins, with a £60million bid from Arsenal emerging on Wednesday - much to the anger of Aston Villa who were preparing for their final UEFA Champions League league phase clash against Celtic.

The Gunners are second in the Premier League table, continuing to chase Liverpool at the top of the table. But to overhaul the Reds, Arsenal may require some help.
So what do they need to do on deadline day? football.london takes a look at the dream scenario.
Ollie Watkins signs
Signing Ollie Watkins looks incredibly difficult to achieve on transfer deadline day. Aston Villa have already sold Jhon Duran for around £67million, with the 21-year-old making the move to the Saudi Pro League to join Al-Nassr.
Villa have no intention of selling their two strikers in the same window and a deal looks very unlikely. But this is a dream scenario, and for Arsenal, signing Watkins - a boyhood Arsenal fan - would be the perfect tonic and just what they need. And, given Villa have signed Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United, it could be an easier deal to complete now than it was late last week.
Watkins has 11 goals and nine assists in 32 appearances for Villa this season. He is an all-round striker and can perfectly slot into Arteta's starting XI to take the pressure off Kai Havertz.
Sverre Nypan U-turn
Another player who looks unlikely to sign for Arsenal on deadline day, but perhaps one the Gunners should move for. Sverre Nypan may not be that well known, but look at what has happened down the road at Tottenham with a relatively unknown Lucas Bergvall getting minutes at 18 years of age.
Nypan would be welcomed by compatriot Martin Odegaard and would be a signing for the future. Getting an extra six months under his belt to acclimatise to London and the Premier League would stand him in good stead for the years to come.
Money comes in
It may surprise many people that Arsenal have not only not signed anyone yet, but they've not sold anyone either.
There have been constant links with Kieran Tierney returning to Celtic, but nothing has happened as yet. Tierney is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer and free to leave for free.
Celtic do want to sign him quicker than that and if they can negotiate a deal, a nice sum of money would be very handy for Arsenal's books.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is another who does not appear to have a long-term future in north London and Arsenal could raise some fund by selling him today. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior are others who could make a move away.
Kimmich agreement
Joshua Kimmich is out of contract at Bayern Munich in the summer. That means clubs in the Premier League can talk to him over completing a free transfer in the summer.
Arsenal do not have to do that on deadline day, they have plenty of time to sort it out, but signing the 29-year-old on a free would be a superb piece of business. Kimmich still has plenty to offer and with Jorginho and Thomas Partey themselves leaving the Emirates Stadium on a free in the summer, Kimmich would be a hell of a replacement.
