Wayne Rooney hoping Plymouth Argyle will be lifted by Ibrahim Cissoko return
Dutch under-21 international winger Ibrahim Cissoko is set to return to the Plymouth Argyle squad for the away Championship game against Oxford United tomorrow after being out injured since October.
However, Cissoko will be on the substitutes' bench not in the starting line-up, and head coach Wayne Rooney will be cautious whether he gives him many minutes, if any, at the Kassam Stadium as the Pilgrims try to bounce back from their 4-0 Boxing Day thumping at Coventry City.
Rooney believes just the presence within the squad of Cissoko, who is a bubbly character off the pitch, will give his team-mates a lift as they make their 13th attempt to get a first away league win of the season.

The 21-year-old loan signing from French top flight club Toulouse, who was such an exciting attacking threat for Argyle earlier in the season, has not played since October due to a hamstring injury.
Rooney, when asked about the possible return of Cissoko against Oxford, said: "Potentially on the bench, and it would be a cautious one on the bench. He wouldn't get much minutes but I think it would be a lift for everyone if we can have him available."
Cissoko's place on Argyle's lengthy injury list looks to have been taken over by Mustapha Bundu, who suffered a hamstring injury in the first half against Coventry, although the extent of the damage is still being assessed.
With Bundu set to be sidelined and Callum Wright beginning a three-match suspension after his late red card at Coventry, Argyle's starting line-up at Oxford is likely to include teenage academy products Tegan Finn and Freddie Issaka.
Finn, 16, made is full debut and just his second senior appearance on Boxing Day while 18-year-old Issaka was a half-time substitute for Andre Gray, who is currently Argyle's only fit forward and was taken off at Coventry, with the visitors trailing 4-0, to save him for the clash against Oxford.
The U's appointed the experienced Gary Rowett as their new boss last Friday after the dismissal of Des Buckingham, who led them to promotion to the Championship by winning the League One Play-Offs last season.
Rowett's first match in charge ended in a 3-2 home win against Cardiff City, with goals from Mark Harris, Ciaron Brown and Przemyslaw Placheta, which moved Oxford out of the relegation zone and up to 20th position, three points above bottom-of-the-table Argyle.
Rooney said: "Every game is crucial. Of course, Oxford on Sunday is now our most important game of the season. We have to prepare right and make sure we are ready."
Argyle are scheduled to play Oxford twice in their next four Championship matches. Their rearranged home game against the U's, which was postponed earlier this month due to safety concerns caused by Storm Darragh, will take place on Tuesday, January 14.
