A week of ups and downs this one. The excellent win at Fleetwood followed by another good performance but a frustrating loss at Notts County. Starting with Fleetwood, this was a much improved performance and showed much more consistency over the 90 minutes.

Cedwyn Scott grabbed his first EFL goal with a poacher's finish from Kadeem Harris’ cross saw us hold a deserved lead at the break. A daft five minute spell in the second half, during which the unfortunate Ronan Coughlan equalised, aside we were comfortably the better side and with better finishing the result should have been sewn up long before Sam Lavelle’s scrambled winner sent the 1,100+ travelling Blues wild.

That win was followed up with Kadeem Harris committing to the club for the rest of the season. Kadeem has been a welcome addition following his return to English football and will be a real asset as we look to pull ourselves clear of danger.

On Tuesday we travelled to high-flying Notts County where a good performance did not match the result. A night where on balance we at least matched the home side. However our failure to take our chances and a sloppy goal conceded meant we came away with nothing.

That said the performance should give us renewed confidence in our ability to pull ourselves clear of the relegation zone. Keep creating chances and eventually we will start taking them.

This Saturday brings Ian Holloway’s Swindon side to Brunton Park where we should be looking to close the gap on the teams above us.

It will also bring the return of our presence in the Fan Zone. Members of the Trust Board will be in hand in our temporary gazebo to answer questions and discuss all things Carlisle United between 1.30pm and 2.30pm. We hope to see many members and non-members alike.

The first two inductees into our CUFC XI have been chosen by you. Peter Beardsley and Stevie Hayward now occupy the central midfield slots after reaching the final of our World Cup of Midfielders on social media.

The next World Cup poll will begin this weekend and will focus on Central Defenders. Keep an eye on our socials to for the polls.

Finally as part of our future plans we are looking for members (or non-members) who can assist with filming and editing videos to be used on our social media and website. If you believe you can help and would like to get involved please contact us.

Until then. Up the Blues.
