Welsh Grand National descends into viewing farce as people all say the same thing
There were farcical scenes at today's Welsh Grand National as viewers watching at home were unable to see most of the action.
The race - which was ultimately won by Val Dancer, ridden by Charlie Hammond - was run in thick fog at Chepstow Racecourse, which caused the horses and jockeys to completely disappear from view at certain points of the course, leaving viewers in the dark about who was leading.
The ITV commentary team were also forced to stay quiet for much of the race as they too couldn't see much of what was going on, admitting at the end of the race that it "wasn't much of a spectacle".

Those watching at home were left bemused at the conditions, as they took to social media.
"Cannot see a thing in this Welsh Grand National," wrote one." It'll be a mystery to me who wins anyway."
Another commented: "Post Xmas tradition: watching the Welsh Grand National. Problem this year is that it is basically staring into foggy oblivion. Who is winning? No idea."
A third viewer added: "Watching the Coral Welsh Grand National. Reminds me my family has a history of cataracts."
The official Betfred X account also teased: "Val Dancer wins the Welsh Grand National... we think?".
Following in behind Val Dancer was Jubilee Express in second, while Iwilldoit came third and Monbeg Genius and Galia Des Liteaux finished in fourth and fifth place respectively. The full results are here.
