Wembdon close gap on Galmington in Taunton & District League
Runaway leaders of the West County Drainage Services Taunton & District League Galmington were in cup action this weekend, giving the chasing pack a chance to catch up.
Galmington were involved in the mens junior cup but were baten by Martock United 4-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
While they were in the cup, second placed Wembdon reduced the gap at the top to eight points after winning at Staplegrove Reserves. Third placed Bridgwater Wolves drew 3-3 at Wyvern United.
Elsewhere, bottom side Minehead Reserves lost to Redgate 3-2 and Porlock put six past Wellington AFC A – the final score was 6-3.
This Saturday (February 15) leaders Galmington face bottom side Minehead AFC Reserves while second-place Wembdon travel to face Porlock.
North Petherton face Redgate, Bridgwater Wolves go to Stogursey and Wyvern United face Wellington AFC A.
