West Brom can now sign summer window target on a free transfer
West Bromwich Albion-linked midfielder Besard Sabovic is now available on a free transfer after he left Swedish outfit Djurgardens at the end of his contract. With the Swedish Allsvenskan being contested between March and November, Sabovic has now departed in the off season and has declared himself ready for a new challenge.
The midfielder, who is Macedonian born but who represented Sweden at under 21 level, spent two years at Djurgardens and he impressed, enough to supposedly catch the eye of Albion as they rebuilt their squad in the summer following a flurry of midfield departures; Sabovic, though, stayed put, not wishing to leave his club midway through the campaign.
With the season now having concluded, Sabovic - who has previously had brief spells with Russia and Turkey - has declined the offer to extend his stay at Djurgardens, for who he made 107 appearances, and will now instead challenge himself abroad - but where exactly he'll next pitch up remains to be seen.

Albion parted with Okay Yokuslu, Nathaniel Chalobah and Yann M'Vila at the end of last season, bringing in Uros Racic on loan from Sassuolo and Ousmane Diakite from TSV Hartberg in their place. It was recruitment which pointed to a long-awaited return of exploiting the European market, and Sabovic was simultaneously mentioned over the course of the summer window.
Now, the player is available on a free and awaiting his next venture, amid links with teams in the US. He said: "Already from the summer I had some offers that I found attractive. I understood that leaving right then in the middle of the season would not work, but I thought that in the winter there would be new opportunities. So that's where I am now and I have been set for quite some time to take a step and try something new, with the hope of then coming back to Djurgården at some point in the future."
Djurgardens sporting director Bosse Andersson added: "We have had a dialogue where he has been clear that he now wants to try a new adventure abroad, he is at that age right now in terms of his career. So with that, we thank Besard for his time with us and wish him the best of luck on his continued football journey."
