West Brom have signed a 'fierce talent' who knows things 'few footballers do'
West Bromwich Albion's January acquisition Tammer Bany might be a virtual unknown in this country - for now - but the sporting director of his first club has revealed the extent of the talent that Albion have invested in. Playmaker Bany, 21, made the move from Randers in his native Denmark on transfer deadline day, one of two additions before the deadline passed.
It's understood that the Baggies broke considerably Randers' record of a transfer sale when securing the signing of Bany, and his former club Boldklubben 1893 are in line to receive a cut after agreeing a sell-on clause when parting with Bany 12 months ago.
Bany could be in line to make his debut this weekend, but he hasn't played since the beginning of December with the Danish league calendar currently in between seasons and time might be required on his part. Having made eight goal contributions in 24 appearances, there is clearly ability which Albion have identified and decided to act upon.

Boldklubben's sporting director Lars Lüthjohan spoke to the local press in Denmark following the deal, which sees his club receive an unforeseen windfall of more than £670,000. He is of the belief that we are only at the very beginning of Bany's exciting footballing career.
“It’s always nice when we see our own players develop and progress in the football world," Lüthjohan explained to Tipsbladet, via Sport Witness. "It is a ray of sunshine story, and it is a great gift to all those who have worked with Tammer at the academy and in and around the first team. We were all excited when we read the news.
“It’s a big thing. You can say that it is a very fast career that he has made for himself. He has taken a slightly different route than what you usually see. It’s nice that he fell in with Randers FC very quickly and attracted interest from abroad. It is impressive. He can be really proud of that and really good work by Randers too.
“I’m not at all surprised that he has moved on. He has a very fierce talent and knows some things that few footballers do. In addition, he is a fantastic boy who takes himself and football very seriously. We may be surprised that it has gone so quickly, but I don’t think this is the last we hear of Tammer. His journey has only just begun.”
