West Brom vs Wolves: FA launch investigation into crowd trouble in FA Cup derby

The FA have launched an investigation into the violent crowd trouble that marred Sunday's FA Cup Black Country derby between West Brom and Wolves.

Six arrests were made at the Hawthorns and four people received medical treatment after supporters clashed with each other and the police.

Chaos broke out after Matheus Cunha put Wolves 2-0 up in the 78th minute and play was halted for almost 40 minutes and the players left the field after fans spilt on to the pitch.

Children were moved on to the pitch for their own safety and one fan was led away with blood streaming from his head.

The FA have condemned the ugly scenes as “completely unacceptable” after one of the worst eruptions of in-stadium fan disorder in recent times.

In a statement, the FA warned of sanctions and said: “We will be investigating these serious incidents alongside the clubs and the relevant authorities, and the appropriate action will be taken.”
