West Ham won 2-1 against Wolves at the London Stadium to earn a victory that may keep under-pressure Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui in a job.

Tomas Soucek gave them the lead in the second half when he headed home Jarrod Bowen’s corner, but Matt Doherty levelled the match for Wolves shortly after.

Jarrod Bowen had the final say, though, curling the winning goal into the corner to earn all three points for Lopetegui’s side.

Dom Smith was at the London Stadium to rate the West Ham players’ performances…

Lukasz Fabianski 6

Given very little to do by a Wolves team whose attacking threat was pretty hopeless until Doherty produced a finish no goalkeeper was getting to.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 6

Full of running and often had the beating of whoever tried to challenge him.

Dinos Mavropanos 7

Made an important tackle to stop Matt Doherty running through early on and put in an infinitely better defensive display than against Leicester and Jamie Vardy last Tuesday. Missed a good chance.

Max Kilman 6

Defended resolutely and was an aerial threat from set pieces (when the delivery into the box was good enough).

Emerson 5

Booked for a late tackle on Doherty. Replaced late on after a middling display.

Edson Alvarez 6

Covered plenty of ground on the night, constantly surveying the situation from midfield.

Tomas Soucek 7

So often West Ham’s hero, the Czech midfielder struck again with a decisive looping header early in the second half.

Mohammed Kudus 6

The ball stuck to his foot whenever he was played through, so proved a useful outlet on the right flank. Doubled West Ham’s advantage, only for his tap-in to be ruled out for offside.

Carlos Soler 6

He’s a very good footballer and is starting to show that in a West Ham shirt, but quiet here. Substituted on 64 minutes.

Crysencio Summerville 6

Had plenty of forays into the Wolves box. Tried to make things happen.

Jarrod Bowen 8

Assisted Soucek with the corner and might have had another soon after, but Kudus’s strike was disallowed for offside. Scored the winner superbly.

Subs:

Lucas Paqueta (Soler, 64’) 6

A couple of defensive headers late on helped West Ham hold on.

Danny Ings (Summerville, 73’) 5

Not on for long enough to make a huge impact.

Guido Rodriguez (Kudus, 87’) N/A

Jean-Clair Todibo (Alvarez, 87’) N/A

Aaron Cresswell (Emerson, 88’) N/A

Not used: Areola, Coufal, Fullkrug, Guilherme
