West Ham vs Bournemouth - LIVE!

The Hammers round off the Premier League weekend at home to the Cherries, looking for their first win in three to move away from the relegation zone. Such is the congested table, victory tonight would send West Ham above tonight’s opponents and into the top half.

Star summer signing Lucas Paqueta has been ruled out, though Maxwel Cornet has an outside chance of making the squad. Bournemouth have no fresh injuries concerns has they look to recover from their first defeat under caretaker manager Gary O'Neil.

Despite their lowly standing ahead of kick-off, West Ham were unlucky to lose to Liverpool and have largely shaken off their poor start. New signings are settling in well and David Moyes will be looking up the table once again. Follow the game live below with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog, with Malik Ouzia at London Stadium this evening!

West Ham vs Bournemouth highlights

  • GOAL! Zouma heads home the opener

Full-time!

21:57 , Alex Young

95min: VAR played a big part but West Ham deserve the win and are up to 10th!

Bournemouth will feel very frustrated, though.

GOAL!

21:54 , Alex Young

92min: Benrahma makes no mistake! Job done.

21:53 , Alex Young

90min: PENALTY TO WEST HAM!

After a loooooong VAR review, it's given for handball! Coufal’s cross hits the arm of Zemura.

21:50 , Alex Young

88min: Downes is replaced by Fornals in the closing moments.

Bournemouth trying to force something late on but West Ham keeping them at bay.

21:47 , Alex Young

82min: I thought I had spoken (typed) too soon as Bournemouth demand a penalty as Johnson appears to block a cross with his arm, but VAR isn’t having it.

Would have been harsh but in the ‘seen them given’ camp.

21:43 , Alex Young

80min: Bournemouth showing no signs of getting back on terms, here.

21:37 , Alex Young

75min: Antonio is on for Scamacca for the final 15 minutes.

Malik Ouzia at London Stadium

21:31 , Alex Young

“It’s not been a good night for Gianluca Scamacca but he’s got only himself to blame. Guilty of holding onto the ball far too long, far too often.”

21:26 , Alex Young

63min: Rice tries his luck from distance, but that’s not troubling Travers.

21:19 , Alex Young

58min: Oh, wow. That is a shocker.

Lerma flies in, two feet off the ground, on Scamacca and somehow gets away with a yellow.

Very lucky to still be on then pitch, surely.

21:15 , Alex Young

53min: A slow start to the second half, with only a long-range hit-and-hope from Benrahma the action of note.

21:06 , Alex Young

A change for Bournemouth at the break as Travers replaces Neto. A big blow.

20:54 , Alex Young

Gary O’Neil is furious at half-time and immediately confronts the referee at half-time after West Ham’s goal is allowed to stand following shouts of a handball in the build up

20:51 , Alex Young

49min: That’s your lot for, come the whistle, a fairly entertaining opening half.

20:49 , Alex Young

VAR took a look at that but there is a big suggestion of a handball in the build-up to that goal.

Ah, well. We continue, four minutes added on.

GOAL!

20:47 , Alex Young

45min: On the stroke of half-time, after a bit of pinball, Zouma heads the ball beyond Neto. Probably deserved on the balance of play.

20:47 , Alex Young

44min: Solanke can’t continue. He’s off.

20:40 , Alex Young

39min: Dropping like flies! Now Solanke is needing treatment after a snapshot at goal.

20:39 , Alex Young

36min: Looks like he may also play on, which appeared unlikely at first. Senesi is having to take free kicks though.

20:38 , Alex Young

34min: Now Bournemouth keeper Neto is hobbling after taking a goal kick. Deary me.

20:37 , Alex Young

32min: He’ll be fine.

20:34 , Alex Young

30min: Bournemouth captain Smith is down after an awkward fall. Physios are on, he looks like he’ll be OK.

Malik Ouzia at London Stadium

20:29 , Alex Young

“This is a good spell now from West Ham. They've been perennial slow starters this term, scoring just twice in the first-half across their league games, so to be purring after 20-odd minutes is almost early-bird stuff.”

20:21 , Alex Young

19min: Best chance of the game so far as a bit of penalty box pinball sees the ball the falls to Bowen, whose is blocked.

20:18 , Alex Young

12min: Another half-chance for West Ham Chance as Cresswell crosses from the left for Soucek to head over.

Not a huge amount going on as yet.

20:10 , Alex Young

7min: West Ham go close with a free kick. Benrahma isn’t the side netting.

20:07 , Alex Young

5min: Both teams very much gauging each other at the moment. Plenty of possession in the middle of the pitch.

Malik Ouzia at London Stadium

20:06 , Alex Young

“Looks like Flynn Downes has started at No10 for West Ham here. He kind of played there in the second half at Anfield but that seemed more a switch to try and stop Thiago Alcantara having so much time on the ball. A very different role at home to Bournemouth - you’d hope - for a man who made his reputation as a holding midfield player at Swansea.”

Kick-off!

His take ahead of kick-off.

Bournemouth have beaten West Ham four times in the Premier League (L3 D3) but West Ham won their last meeting 4-0, in January 2020.

19:21 , Alex Young

Bournemouth interim manager Gary O'Neil to Sky Sports: "We come here tonight and it's another really tough game but one we look to have a big impact on.

"I know what I will get from the boys, I expect them to be what they've been for the last seven games - fully committed, relentless, difficult to beat.

"There's belief in the group. As a newly promoted team, there are games that are tricky on the road, most of the teams are tricky but we have done well and been competitive and have to make sure we are again this evening.

"They are a good side, really good depth now. They have a few missing but still a really strong starting 11. It will be tough but there are ways we can cause them problems and we can get at them."

19:10 , Alex Young

West Ham have tonight made one change from the defeat to Liverpool as they take on Bournemouth.

Said Benrahma is back in the starting line-up, replacing Pablo Fornals in the front three alongside Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen. David Moyes has ditched the 4-4-2 which failed against Liverpool.

As expected, summer signings Maxwel Cornet and Lucas Paqueta both miss out. Cornet has been out of action since the start of the month and David Moyes confirmed last he was back in training, although this evening’s game has come too soon.

Bournemouth are unchanged.

The visitors are unchanged.

West Ham XI

One change for the hosts.

Fans are arriving.

It’s a big night for both teams. West Ham really do need to get back to winning ways to get some momentum back quickly, while Bournemouth suffered their first defeat in five last time out - and will want to make sure that was just a blip.

Rice talks up Scamacca

18:39 , Alex Young

Declan Rice is excited by the promise of West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca, saying "he's going to be unbelievable".

"I've played with (Michail) Antonio for so many years and he's done so many good things for this club. But he was never an out-and-out striker. He's been made into a striker whereas Gianluca is the first out-and-out striker I've played with at club level and he's just on another level.

"He's so exciting, the way he plays. We just need to keep playing to his strengths but he's one we can be excited about for sure. For me, when I look at him I think, 'Wow, he's a player that's got something'."

Will he start tonight? Team news in 20 mins.

Score prediction

Bournemouth have proven hard to beat since Scott Parker’s exit but West Ham should have more than enough to get back on track here.

Bournemouth team news

18:11 , Alex Young

Interim boss Gary O'Neil said Bournemouth have some "bumps and bruises" but nothing that should result in any availability changes.

Lloyd Kelly (ankle) and David Brooks (hamstring) are out but Siriki Dembele and Joe Rothwell, who made their Premier League debuts in midweek, could see more action.

Paqueta injury not as bad as feared

18:01 , Alex Young

West Ham have been boosted by the news that Lucas Paqueta's shoulder injury was not as bad as first feared, but he will not feature tonight.

Asked if he would rotate his players, David Moyes said: "I think we've got seven games to go between now and the World Cup break. We need to think about how we use the players well enough and who is ready for the job.

"You want to always play your best team but you sometimes need to change things to keep them fresher."

Moyes has been boosted this week by winger Maxwel Cornet returning to the grass, and he has an outside chance for Monday's match along with defender Craig Dawson.
