West Ham XI vs Brentford: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today
West Ham will be without Edson Alvarez for today’s Premier League clash with Brentford.
The midfielder was sent off for two bookable offences during the club’s 5-1 defeat at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday night and is duly suspended for the short trip across to west London.
Carlos Soler could replace the Mexican international after making his first start for the Hammers at Anfield, while Niclas Fullkrug will need to be assessed.
The Germany international suffered an Achillies injury during the last international break and recently returned to training, though was left out of the squad who made the trip to Anfield.
Speaking at Thursday’s pre-match press conference, Irons boss Julen Lopetegui said: “We will train now and will see again afterwards how they are. We have Edson out and let’s see what will happen with the others between today and tomorrow.
“Unfortunately Fullkrug was not available last night, so we will wait for this afternoon and tomorrow to see for him.”
Lopetegui is himself on crutches after picking up an injury at Anfield.
West Ham predicted XI: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson; Soler, Soucek; Kudus, Paqueta, Summerville, Bowen
