West Ham XI vs Nottingham Forest: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League

·1-min read

West Ham have new signings Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet on the bench against Nottingham Forest today, with only one change made to David Moyes’ starting XI in the East Midlands.

Cornet was signed from Championship side Burnley last week in a £17.5million deal but was not registered in time to face Manchester City on Premier League opening weekend. Scamacca was, but only featured as a second-half substitute.

That duo must be patient this afternoon, with the only alteration from Moyes at the City Ground after a 2-0 loss to the champions seeing Said Benrahma replace Manuel Lanzini.

“I think they are ready to start,” Moyes said of his new attacking recruits on Friday. “I think it’s just a decision whether we are ready to play them yet. They are getting much closer, that is for sure.”

Michail Antonio and Lukasz Fabianski have both shrugged off knocks to start again for West Ham, meanwhile.

Moyes turns to Ben Johnson as a makeshift centre-back once more, with Craig Dawson only just rejoining training after a thigh issue, while Angelo Ogbonna is not ready to return to first-team action after his lengthy ACL lay-off.

West Ham starting XI: Fabianski, Coufal, Zouma, Cresswell, Johnson, Soucek, Rice, Bowen, Benrahma, Fornals, Antonio

Subs: Cornet, Scamacca, Lanzini, Downes, Areola, Coventry, Randolph, Ashby
