West Midlands Police send Aston Villa vs Celtic warning amid Rangers investigation
West Midlands Police have sent a message to Aston Villa supporters regarding ticketing for next week’s Champions League showdown with Celtic.
The social media post comes after reports of Rangers fans in areas of Old Trafford reserved for Manchester United’s followers during last night’s Europa League clash.
United won the game 2-1, thanks to a late goal from Bruno Fernandes, but the evening did not pass off without incident after reports of trouble in Manchester city centre and claims Rangers fans had sourced tickets for the home end. United are currently looking into the matter.

With Rangers’ Glasgow rivals due at Villa Park next Wednesday for a game Unai Emery's side must win to return to the top eight of the table, WMP have urged restraint among Villa fans if a similar problem arises.
Using their dedicated X account, they posted: “If there are away supporters located in home areas of the stadium on Wednesday evening, do not react with aggression or violence. Please allow Aston Villa staff or if required, the Police to deal with the matter. Aston Villa have tried hard to prevent this happening.”
Villa will secure their place if they beat Celtic and one of Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Atalanta or Bayer Leverkusen fail to win their final league phase games.
