Trevor Lawrence's post-Sugar Bowl Zoom news conference interrupted by woman criticizing his mustache
Always make sure you’re on mute during a video call.
That’s the lesson to take away from Trevor Lawrence’s news conference after Clemson’s Sugar Bowl loss to Ohio State on Friday night. As Lawrence was talking, a woman on the news conference didn’t realize that her computer or phone wasn’t muted. So everyone — including Lawrence — could hear her say that Lawrence should shave his mustache.
During Trevor Lawrence's Presser, somebody was unmuted and shared their opinion on Trevor's mustache.
His reaction was priceless😂 pic.twitter.com/9C1gm37qN3— Chandler Mack (@chandlerdmack) January 2, 2021
To Lawrence’s credit, he handled the situation with the poise he typically shows in the pocket. After he realized what had happened he simply said “thank you” with a smile.
Lawrence suffered just the second loss of his Clemson career as the Tigers’ starting QB on Friday night in the 49-28 defeat. Both of those losses have come in the Superdome in New Orleans too.
Clemson lost for the first time with Lawrence as its starter during the national title game against LSU a year ago. And then Ohio State’s offense ripped apart the Clemson defense on Friday night as Lawrence and the offense couldn’t keep up. While Lawrence threw for 400 yards, he also threw an interception on what’s likely the last pass of his Clemson career and fumbled three times. He was fortunate that only one of those fumbles was recovered by Ohio State.
Lawrence is expected to declare for the NFL draft in the coming days as he’ll likely be the No. 1 pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars. And there are probably a lot of Jaguars fans who will be outspoken about Lawrence from everything from his passing stats to his facial hair.
