Benjamin Sesko continues to have an all-action season for RB Leipzig as he strives to impress clubs interested in completing a transfer this year. The 21-year-old was one of last summer's big talking points.

Coming off the back of a hot-streak in front of goal in the Bundesliga, Sesko was one of the few big-name strikers readily available on the market. Arsenal, among many others, pushed heavily to try and bring him in.

The interest has not died down, either, despite Sesko signing a new long-term contract in Germany. He still has four-and-a-half years left to run on his deal, bit it isn't expected to stop teams from going in for him once more.

Now, with 13 goals in all competitions from 25 total appearances - plus three assists - Sesko has picked up where he left off. As an unpredictable, raw, but thoroughly entertaining and match-winning player, it is no surprise that he is among the players being considered by Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta's side know they are in much need of January reinforcements and are working on making attacking signings before the February 3 deadline, football.london understands. Their attempts have been heightened by the injury to Gabriel Jesus, but plans were already in place prior after England star Bukayo Saka was ruled out until at least March.

Sesko, as one of the more gettable targets due to his lower price tag - especially when compared to Alexander Isak - is a player of immense interest. It is thought that Leipzig have an agreement to let him go later this year, although that will be without a release clause, which was at £55million last summer.

After three goals in the first 12 league games, he sent reminder of just why so many clubs see him as the answer to their attacking issues. Similar to a run he went on at the back end of last season, Sesko fired in goals in five straight games over the festive and New Year period, announcing himself once more as a player to be taken seriously.

However, his ability to always be in the spotlight didn't pay off for Leipzig last week. Indeed, after scoring away to Stuttgart, Sesko saw himself sent-off with the game still in the balance.

He picked up a second yellow card late on for a challenge made with just five minutes to go. That ruled him out of Saturday's meeting with Bochum, too, a game that Leipzig could only draw.

That explains his absence from the teamsheet with some Arsenal supporters online getting excited about the prospect of him missing the match with a transfer in mind. Others, accepting the suspension, still felt that it was the end of Sesko's time in Germany, predicting a January move to follow.

That currently looks unlikely, although with Sesko it is hard to be sure on anything that will happen. Arsenal have until February 3 to complete their mid-season business - with Sesko seemingly in their sights.
