Why Birmingham City vs Lincoln has 12pm kick-off time and isn’t on TV
Birmingham City take a break from their League One promotion push this weekend with an FA Cup tie against Lincoln City.
Blues have already beaten Sutton United and Blackpool on the road in the FA Cup this season and their reward is a home tie against divisional rivals Lincoln in the third round. When the two teams met at Sincil Bank in League One back in October, Blues ran out 3-1 winners.
The all League One clash hasn’t been selected for TV coverage by the BBC or ITV, but it has been given the unusual kick-off time of 12pm due to it being chosen for international broadcast.

There are fears that the tie and early kick-off time will affect the attendance at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park. Blues are averaging a whopping 26,684 crowd in league games this season, while 9,752 watched the Vertu Trophy game against Walsall and 6,900 for the 7-1 mauling of Fulham’s under-21s.
Blues have tried to incentivise attendance from season ticket holders by stating they will be given priority to tickets if the club progresses and lands a plum home tie in one of the later rounds.
