Why Crystal Palace vs Chelsea isn't on TV explained as rule blocks Premier League broadcast
Crystal Palace and Chelsea supporters in the UK - without tickets for Saturday afternoon's clash at Selhurst Park - will be unable to watch the action live on TV.
The Blues travel across the capital on Saturday looking to address a poor run of recent results. Enzo Maresca has enjoyed a great start to his time at Stamford Bridge, but his side have lost back-to-back matches against Fulham and most recently Ipswich Town.
Such results seem to have taken Chelsea out of this season's title race, but earning a top-four finish would still be deemed a success considering the circumstances that Maresca inherited. Palace have not tasted victory since mid-December when they beat rivals Brighton & Hove Albion in Sussex.

Oliver Glasner's men find themselves in a relegation battle, meanwhile, and victory over the Blues would be huge for the Eagles. However, fans who wish to watch the match live in the UK must have a ticket for the game.
That is because neither Sky Sports nor TNT Sports have chosen to broadcast the game. As such, the match will be played at 3pm on Saturday which is deemed the 'black-out' in the UK.
This 'black-out' was created by the FA to protect lower league clubs from potentially lost income. The worry for clubs towards the bottom of the pyramid was that allowing high profile matches to be shown at 3pm would put casual fans off attending their games.
As such, games that are played at 3pm on a Saturday are not broadcast live on TV. The 'black-out' has been widely criticised by some supporters, particularly considering all Premier League matches, regardless of kick-off times, can be viewed live abroad.
However, the FA, Premier League and EFL remain committed to the 'black-out' ruling.
