Fulham manager Marco Silva became irritated by the line of questioning in his pre-Manchester United press conference on Friday afternoon.

The Cottagers will welcome United to Craven Cottage on Sunday evening looking to inflict revenge on their opponent for their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on the opening night of the season back in August.

Fulham are currently seven points ahead of United in the Premier League table and have lost just one of their last 10 league matches, taking points off Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea during that period.

However, Silva was pressured into answering questions about Sunday's visitors and Ruben Amorim's recent comments about his United team being "maybe the worst in the club's history". He made it clear that he wanted to talk about Sunday's game as a collective and his own team.

"All the other things is not for us, it's more about distractions that the people like to talk about," said Silva. "When you are talking like a massive club like Man United, it's them. It's not for me to talk [about].

"If you want to talk about the game, the Man United game against Fulham, I am here for it."

Asked specifically about Amorim's post-Brighton comments, Silva continued: "As I said before, we are here to talk about Fulham-Man United. If you want comments from Man United and you want comments about what the people say, you have to ask different people or a different manager, not for me."

Silva did very briefly touch on United's current situation, suggesting his players should be aware of the results they have recently achieved away from home against Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

"My focus and ours [Fulham] is on the match on Sunday," added Silva. "I'm not here to make comments on Manchester United.

"It's clear that some of their results could be better but that's it. They are a massive club with quality and are capable of playing against Man City, Liverpool, and Arsenal but for us, we need to focus on us."
