Why Roy Keane is encouraged ahead of Man United's FA Cup clash vs Arsenal
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has admitted he was encouraged that his old club will get a result against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Sunday following their performance at Liverpool last weekend.
The Reds had been suffering from a rotten run of form heading into the clash with their fiercest rivals, but Ruben Amorim had his team well-drilled at Anfield. After taking the lead through Lisandro Martinez, Amad rescued a much-deserved point for the visitors as Liverpool were denied an opportunity to extend their advantage at the top of the Premier League.
A tricky run of fixtures for United continues today as they travel to the Emirates Stadium to face the Gunners. The Reds go into the game as holders of the famous trophy but are 17 points adrift of their opponents in the Premier League.

Despite this, Keane does have some optimism ahead of the cup tie. Speaking to ITV Sport, he explained: "I think United can take a lot of encouragement from their performance last week, particularly from an attacking point of view, scoring a couple of goals and maybe could have won it at the end.
"If they can deal with Arsenal’s set pieces, I think United have a great chance." Arsenal go into the match having lost in midweek to Newcastle 2-0 in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Reflecting on that result, Keane felt there were signs of the threats Arsenal pose and what United must look out for. "As disappointing as Arsenal were in their cup game during the week, they created a lot of chances and they will get chances against United, it is a case of can they take them?" The former United captain puzzled.
"Yeah, because of the high standards they (Arsenal) have set the last year or two (you can tell something isn’t clicking) but I go back to Arsenal at home, again we think they have gone off it a little bit but they are still a quality team and I think if they get on top of the set piece side of the game, it will be very hard for United to deal with. But United will certainly be a threat of course, they are Man United."
